A gray Honda Accord with Georgia licensed plates first crashed into protective poles surrounding an electrical box in Costa Mesa before the alleged suicidal woman then proceeded to crash her car into a southern California supermarket next ABC News revealed on Sept. 15.
After the second crash, which occurred on Saturday, the 42-year-old woman began telling officers of an incident involving her two children, and where they could find them. Police located the dead kids in a third-floor room of the Hampton Inn & Suites in Santa Ana.
The incident resulted in the woman being taken to a hospital for treatment before being released into police custody, and names of the suspect and her dead children were being withheld until family could be notified.
CNN also reported on Sunday that while the last known address for the woman was Scottsdale, Ariz., the vehicle she was in had Georgia license plates.
