Georgia Lakes fishing report productive wind fishing

The wind has been an issue for fishing but those who are out on a regular basis know it can also be productive. Where the wind is blowing the water it is also adding oxygen to the water, it is also blowing the plankton, the shad and of course the fish that are feeding.

Choppy waters conceal an angler on a water that is fished heavily

What to cast into the wind? Spinnerbait, brankbait and jerkbait are good ones for windy days. Getting the bite isolated will produce the pattern.

Lake Hartwell

Level: full pool. Clarity: main lake is clear and 67 degrees, back creeks are stained and 70 degrees. Bass are in spawn. Shoal areas, sand and gravel are holding.

Lake Eufala

Level” 2.17 over full pool. Temperature: 70’s.

Bass fishing is good using spinnerbaits with willow leaf blades to the banks. Texas or Carolina rigs in green or smoke.

Clarks Hill Lake

Level: full. Clarity: stained. Temperature: 70’s.

Bass fishing is good and change your baits often. Grasslines are showing the best.

Lake Lanier

Level: full pool and up .18 over. Temperature: 66 degrees. Clarity: to 10 feet. Bass are in full spawn. Small jighead, worms and black herring.

Lake Hartwell

Level: 1.5 ft. blow full pool. Clarity: main lake is clear, back creeks are stained. Temperature: 67 degrees

Bass are in the middle of spawn, look in the shoreline and grass pockets.

Jackson Lake

Level: full. Clarity: stained. Temperature: middle 70’s.

Bass fishing, some are still in spawn. Some are roaming, Crankbaits in the morning. The docks, working plastics and jigs.

Lake Allatoona

Level: full. Clarity: stained. Temperature: love 70’s. Fishing is at its prime right now. Shorelines and rip rap are holding the most fish. Poppers, topwaters and drop shot.

Lake Oconee

Temperature: Upper 60’s to lower 70’s. Level: full pool. Clarity: stained on north end and clearing toward the dam. Shad rap and crankbaits are getting the bites.

Lake Russell

Level: full pool. Clarity: clear. Temperature: 70’s.

Bass fishing is clicking with Pop R’s, spinnerbaits and Chug Bugs. Midday the bass are holding tight in the cover.

Lake Seminole

Level: 1.09 above full pool. Clarity: stained. Temperature: 70’s.

Big bright baits are fishing good. Crawfish on tight cover.

Lake Sinclair

Level: full. Temperature: 73 degrees. Clarity: muddy lake and stained creeks.

Bass fishing is jumping and great. Early morning numbers are best. Spinnerbaits and crankbaits.

Lake Weiss

Level: .15 above full pool. Temperature: 72 degrees. Clarity: clear to stained.

Most bass are in spawn.

West Point Lake

Level: 1.2 above full pool. Clarity: stained. Temperature: Mid 70’s.

Bass, largemouth and spots are everywhere in the early mornings and evenings. Carolina rigged worm.
