Georgia Kayak Fishing, Inc.

Georgia Kayak Fishing, Inc. is hosting the second stop of their statewide tournament trail this weekend on the beautiful mountain lakes of North Georgia. Anglers will be competing for over $50,000 in cash and prizes through the course of the four tournaments and all proceeds will be given to three statewide 501(c) 3 outdoor related non-profits. These organizations are The Georgia FFA-FCCLA Center, The Georgia Wildlife Federation and the Georgia Kayak Fishing Foundation.

At this stop, anglers will be able to choose to launch from one of five locations including Hall’s Boat House on Lake Rabun, Lake Seed Boat Ramp, the Georgia and South Carolina-side boat ramps on Lake Tugaloo as well as a secret boat ramp that will be revealed the night before the tournament. Participants will be testing their fishing skills by attempting to catch the longest combination of one black bass, one catfish and one other fish from a third category where they can “weigh-in” their longest walleye, pickerel or brown trout.

If competitive fishing is not your thing, there will also be an outdoor living festival at the Tallulah Gorge Park Day Use area, in Tallulah Falls, GA. Here you can check out a variety of outdoor products and there will even be a local kayak vendor, The Outside World, bringing a variety of kayaks to “test drive” to see if fishing from silly plastic boats could be right for you.
