Georgia Invaders of the PDFL release details for team’s second combine

The Georgia Invaders of the Professional Developmental Football League have announced details for the team’s second combine. Players interested in being part of the team’s inaugural season need to be at Independence High School in Alpharetta on Saturday (2/9). Registration opens at 9:30 a.m. and will close at 11:00 a.m., at which time the combine will begin. The field is a natural grass surface. The participation fee is $60.

The Invaders held their first combine January 19th and saw several players they hope to sign. The team will be adding additional players to the roster from Saturday’s combine. The Invaders had an ownership change that delayed preparation for the inaugural season, but now have local ownership that has solidified plans moving forward.

Ron Hill is the Head Coach. His staff includes Gary Davis as Defensive Coordinator, Hillery Douglas Jr. will work with Defensive Backs, Justin Krueger is the Offensive Assistant, Lannoris Spaulding will be the Linebackers coach, and Zachary Browning is the Offensive Assistant coach.

This will be Coach Hill's 28th season of coaching football at various levels and he told me “it is just as exciting as the first year when you are building a team from the ground up,” Coach Hill went on to say that the team is working “to not only put a quality product on the field this season, but be active in the community as well.”

Coach Hill has amassed quite a resume over his nearly three decades in the game, and the staff he has assembled brings years of experience to the Invaders as well. In coming articles readers will be introduced to the Invader coaching staff, as well receiving updates on the continued process of building a team.

Saturday’s combine is the next step in building the team that was selected to open the season in the 2013 Kick-Off Classic, the PDFL's opening game of the season, in Atlanta on Saturday May 4, 2013.
