A Georgia couple watched and photographed a hovering disc-shaped UFO while driving along Route 141W (Peachtree Parkway) at 11:25 a.m. on October 23, 2010, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The wife was a passenger in the vehicle and saw the object first.
The husband describes the object that he also saw.
"It was silver in color," the husband stated. "At times it looked cigar shaped but the more we looked at it, it appeared more of a disk. It's hard to tell exactly how high in the sky it was but I would say it was about the same altitude as a low flying plane. The object was not really moving, it appeared stationary."
The wife was then able to snap one photo of the object. But just 10 seconds after taking the image, the object was gone.
"We spent the next couple minutes looking out the windows as we were driving to see if we could again spot it but to no avail. It was definitely gone."
The couple moved on to their destination, but saw the object again at the same location just 25 minutes later.
"As we neared the location where we originally sited the object, we began to look for it again. Amazingly, we spot it, in the same general vicinity, although this time it's traveling in the opposite direction and moving at a slow but steady speed. I immediately find a parking lot to pull into; it was a church. As I'm about to park the car, the object is in full site, again, moving relatively slow. I take an additional 10 seconds to turn the car 180 degrees into a parking spot. By the time my wife and I get out of the car, the object is now nearly out of sight in the far horizon. I couldn't even spot it anymore and it was my wife (with her better far sight) that spotted it way off in the distance for a couple seconds before it again disappeared."
The case was filed with MUFON on October 24, 2010. Georgia is a current UFO DEFCON 4 rating, with an unusually high number of East Coast state cases.

GA, October 23, 2010 - (sg) Unidentified flying object spotted in daylight over Cumming, GA. MUFON Case # 26081.
On Saturday, October 23, 2010, my wife and I were traveling in our SUV heading down 141W (Peachtree Parkway) at approximately 11:25am EST. We were approximately 3 miles from our destination when my wife, who was sitting in the front passenger seat stated she sees something in the sky that she can't identify. I asked her to describe it and she really couldn't, just that's she's never seen anything like it. I then peer out the window for a glance and notice the object. I take a double and then triple-take. It was silver in color. At times it looked cigar shaped but the more we looked at it, it appeared more of a disk. It's hard to tell exactly how high in the sky it was but I would say it was about the same altitude as a low flying plane. The object was not really moving, it appeared stationary. It was not an airplane, nor helicopter, bi-plane, weather-balloon, flare or anything else of the sort. We were on our way to get our daughter's hair cut for the first time, so we brought our digital camera. My wife got it out quickly and took the first snapshot. The camera focused on her window so it came out blurry. The next time I told her to zoom in as far as she could go and try to take another picture. She did, and the attached picture is the result. My wife looked at the picture she just took and by the time she looked back up at the object (less than 10 seconds had transpired) was completely out of site. We spent the next couple minutes looking out the windows as we were driving to see if we could again spot it but to no avail. It was definitely gone.
About 25 minutes go by and we are finished getting our daughter's hair cut. We drive back on 141 although in the opposite direction. As we neared the location where we originally sited the object, we began to look for it again. In sum, my wife is a UFO skeptic. I was amazed that she was so into this object and she only would have been if it was an extreme anomaly. The shape and variable speeds of the object is most perplexing. To note, as we got back on 141 to drive home, we noticed a black helicopter fly directly overhead at a few hundred feet. When you look at the picture, you will notice a phone/electrical line running across. Directly below is the object. When zooming in, you will immediately notice black bands/spots towards either end. I forwarded the picture to my father late last night, who is an engineer and frequently has contracts with NASA and other aeronautical associations, and he too is states that it is unlike anything he's ever seen. Yeah! A picture!! Not a great pic but none the less a picture!
I find it amazing that we have HD technology now and still, nothing but Polaroid quality pics of a smudge off in the distance. In the 40 years since apparent visitations from UFO's and the MILLIONS of people who claim to have seen one, there are ZERO acceptable photographs of one. Bullsh*t, as usual.
Even if you have a high quality camera and have all the skills needed to shoot a good photograph. It doesn't mean the UFO is just going to chill there while you set up your tripod, load up your DSLR, test the camera lense, attach it, then set it to manual mode, then set your conditions, set the camera to landscape check your framing and then shoot.
People themselves go Oh my god what the heck is that?! We should get a picture! *gets the camera* and by now they are usually shaking or moving in a vehicle.. so you get shots like this.

obviously you have never tried to take a picture of a high flying object. even with HD it is extremely difficult to get a good quality frame.
Well said Gordon! For one thing that doesn't look much like a cigar or a disc, and the dark patches suggest either contours or paint. It isn't silver either.
Not all of us can afford high end equipment. I know I'm not always roaming around with my dslr with HUGE lens(because stock won't do for a great distance). A lot of people usually have their phone handy. Now, I'm not saying this is totally real but it's not bullshi* because of a crappy picture or lack of proof. Crappy pictures mean things didn't happen? Hm.
Not to mention, to take a good picture one needs good lighting. If it's at night time, you better camp out or something. You'd need a tripod to capture something other than blurry lights. Not so easy for something unexpected.
I personally think this photo is just a out of focus image of a high altitude airliner moving from the left to the right. You can make out the tail and the wings along with the two jet engines. I would guess Boeing 737

Hi all, very interesting reading all of your comments here. I am the husband who was driving the car but I'll obviously remain anonymous until MUFON can complete their investigation. To the gentlemen about the camera, I have a Sony high-def 1080p digital recorder/camera but we weren't going to lug that thing to our daughters first hair cut. That's why we just brought a simple digital camera and it just happened to be in the car. Also, have you ever tried to take a picture in a car moving 45mph with windows up? Not the easiest to do, especially when trying to focus! I can tell you that I'm in the field of analytics and get paid to critically think, to look for anomalies and solve for them and to pay attention to detail. I've lived enough decades to know the difference between anything manmade that I know of that can fly, and the object we witnessed. It is what it is. Until you're there and actually experience it, it is much easier to judge to the contrary. Happy commenting.
This is so weird. I will not say that it is a UFO yet. However strange things are happening right now that I can't explain. I like shows like X files and Fringe....which border on the weird crazy side. Well after watching an episode of Fringe the other night I decided to dig a little deeper into the side of Aliens and UFO's.
What I found was amazing treasure trove of things even I did not know about. So after spending about 4 hours reading through out.....the next morning in the Gainesville Times(i am from Athens) there were cattle mutilations in Hall County on Sunday. Which was exactly what I was reading from this site.....its all very strange I tell you.

I, too, have pics of something unusual in the sky our friend took on 10-22 from the Dillard House in Georgia. You are correct in stating that it is easy to judge to the contrary unless one experiences it themselves.
Hi. my name is Sarah.I live in Bogart GA. Right outside of Athens...On the same night my husband wakes me up out of bed and tells me to look in the back yard...Our back yard is a cow pasture for acres...it is usually pitch black...not this night..there were four bright lights equally apart..the object got closer and closer untill the lights were huge. It looked about the size of a trailer. I could not see the outline of the craft because it was pitch black outside and the lights were so bright they were all you could see. It was right there.I got the binocholars out and got a good look...the lights were mainly white but had blue and gold sparks flashing in them kinda swirling from color to color...I know my back yard has nothing but blackness on any other day...we tried to snap a pic. but the second i pressed the button all four lights went off at the same time...then we didnt see anything but blackness.then we noticed airplanes flying over our back yard...it totally freaked us out. Ive always beleived in ufo's but never saw one...untill this night...Im positive it was a ufo...there is no way into our back yard unless u flew in and landed.because it is fenced in to hold in the cows...weird.i called my mom at two in the morning to tell her what was in my yard. I described what I saw exackly.she said wow.today she calls me back and says look on the internet she saw and read articles of people who described exackly what I described to her that night..i saw ur picture of the ufo...it was the same thing in my back yard...i saw it with my own eyes..as well as my husband and seventeen year old son..we couldnt beleive it.
I agree with all side here, to some degree. But I must side with Gordon here. Regardless of the quality of equipment that exists, in 40-50 years of sightings, somebody, somehwere would have produced a fairly decent image. An unquestionable image. But this image is not different than all the rest. And just because there is something there, doesn't make it alien.
i dont think its the quality of the equiptment as much as the ufo's willingness to be photographed...i saw this object in my back yard the same night. I watched it for more then a half hour up close...i was so in awe.i could only stare ...when we finally got the camera out i held it up to the object...the very second I pushed the button all four light went out at the same exact time...i almost had a heart attack.its like it knew i was watching it and about to snap a photo...coincendence.maybe. but I dont know..I literally watched with my husband and seventeen yr old son for half an hr.as soon as i pushed the button....lights out back to a black dark cow pasture...my back yard is a cow field and is always pitch black...there is no explanation for this.the whole field is fenced in and their is no way in unless u land from the sky...if the fence were broken all he cows would b gone...ive heard of aliens being interested in cows before...but this is just so wierd...and the same thing i saw was photographed by the man and his wife...the pic they took is what we saw...but much closer.it was about a football field away...it was crazy...
you obviously have not looked hard enough on the internet. there are gazillions of decent pictures. but then, you probably would say they were a hoax. i love people!

Gordon. I am still unsure on my stance as to if UFO's are real or not; However, I see two possible reason for there being no definite pictures/videos in all of this time we have had the ability to capture them. One, it is that UFO's are not real, and people are making up stories and making fake evidence that is unclear, or the government is hiding it (and if the first reason is false, the the second is definitely true). Interpret however you like.
why can't it be both? there is a lot of anecdotal evidence that points to alien visitation and reverse engineered craft being flown around by the USAF.
I have to go with the feeling that after all these years,after who knows how many THOUSANDS of reports, we haven't got at least several "Wow,this is really one" photos as visual proof.Triangles,how large? how many?how close? no good photos?Discs all over the Americas and elsewhere for sure. So many blobs,smears,out of focus lights at night. Why are the discs shown mostly at the same angle?How can all the photographers point of perspective be the same? If UFO's cloak or whatever to hide from cameras why so many photos out there? How long have guys like, ( fill in the blank with your fave), been teasing with promises of true disclosure? How many seers have sworn to knowing when the end of the world will take place? It's time to move on nothing to see here.

My b/f saw this same ufo on the Friday prior to this couple`s sighting. (We live on the out-skirts of Atlanta.) He even drew me a picture of what it looked like-just like this one. He won`t let me make a report, because he says everyone makes fun of those who make reports. He`s mostly right. A few are willing to be subjective, but people are quick to judge it a fake, when they haven`t seen it themselves.

I too was at the Dillard house on 10/20, and that night, as I was outside looking up at the sky, I noticed a very long row of lights that appeared ontop of a nearby mountain. First, there are no homes on this particular mountain top. Second, the row of lights was much to long and straight to be at the crest of a mountain without being suspended in the air. Also, the lights were not there and then all of a sudden were. Within 2 mintues of observing it, the lights just as quickly disappeared. Can you please comment on what you observed and whether there were any similarities. I find my experience and your comment too uncanny to fit into the realm of coincidence. We're talking nowhere land Dillard, GA. Seriously what are the odds.
I believe I may have seen the same object while on my way to work that day. I was driving on Peachtree Pkwy and spotted something stationary in the sky in the rear view mirror. I thought it might have been a balloon because I've seen one or two over the past month. I considered turning around to get a better view but I was running late. Now I wish I had.

For those of you that say there are no clear photos of flying saucers. Take a look at the historical films. ie..There are several that have been examined by the BEST with the negatives to boot and they have not proven to faked or hoaxed, as much as the skeptics would like. The black and white films of the late 50's and 60's are quite clear and detailed. I have had the luxury to sit in on some of the exams and it is very telling what the pro skeptics found and caused them to re-evalute their positions.. You can find them yourself if interested...
