The Georgia Bulldogs football team practiced once again on Tuesday (3/5/13) in Athens.
Below is a release from the Georgia athletics department about Tuesday’s practice.
Bulldogs Continue Spring Football Practice
ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia football team continued spring practice on Tuesday with a two-hour session on the Woodruff Practice Fields.
Tuesday's practice was the second of the spring for the Bulldogs, who will log a total of 15. That figure includes the G-Day Game at Sanford Stadium on Saturday, April 6. The G-Day Game will be televised by CSS with a kickoff time of 1 p.m.
Georgia coach Mark Richt was asked for his impressions of the first two days of work.
"After reviewing the film of Saturday's practice, we realized we were not running as hard to the ball as we thought we should, so we got that straightened out today," Richt said. "It's hard to make too many assessments when you're in shorts and you're installing. We're looking forward to Thursday when we can put on the pads and play a little football."
The Bulldogs spent most of their practice time on Tuesday in a steady pouring of rain. Saturday's first practice included precipitation as well, including snow flurries.
"Football's an outdoor sport, so the weather can be an issue at times but you've still got to get in the work," Richt said. "We knew the rain was a possibility, but there was no lightning so we were fine. The film may be interesting. Hopefully it will be good enough to coach from."
Also Tuesday, it was announced that the Bulldogs' Aug. 31 season opener at Clemson will kick off at 8 p.m. and will be televised by ABC. This will mark Georgia's 73rd appearance on the network. The Bulldogs own a 44-26-2 mark in the previous games.
