Fishing enthusiasts and state officials in South Carolina wanted to keep the fishing regulations as alike as possible when it comes to fishing pubic water bordering Georgia. John Biagi, Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division, “To minimize confusion, Georgia sport fishing regulations will coincide with South Carolina’s revised fishing laws.”

Changes include:

· A limit of 10 striped bass or hybrid bass or combinations on Lake Hartwell, Clarks Hill, only three may be over 26 inches.

· The trout limit is five.

· The limit for white bass is 10.

· Crappie limit in South Carolina is 30 and in Georgia you get to keep 40.

The Georgia and South Carolina fishing license agreement is in an effort to keep families fishing without paying an arm-and-a-leg by fishing with a license from either state. This new agreement is in effect now.
