George Zimmerman wanted a celebrity fight, and DMX is glad to oblige him. According to a Feb. 5 article on MSN.com, DMX plans to urinate on the now-acquitted neighborhood watchman who fired the shot that killed Trayvon Martin.
The fights will be three rounds, and the exact time and place will be announced in a press conference on Feb. 12. Damon Feldman, owner and organizer of Celebrity Boxing, has hyped this fight as one of the biggest Celebrity Boxing events of all time. DMX said that he was “one of 15,000 people” who wanted to fight Zimmerman, who has been involved in a few brushes with the law since his “not guilty” ruling. Many people who adamantly defended his innocence in the Trayvon Martin trial may have have reconsidered their endorsement of this seemingly unpredictable man.
DMX has vowed to break every rule in boxing in the fight in order to beat Zimmerman. There appears to be a hint of racial conflict in the pre-fight rhetoric, and it remains to be seen whether this spark will become a dangerous flame.
The excitement over the announcement of this pay-per-view event coincided with what would have been Trayvon Martin's 19th birthday.
