Not more than a week ago this column predicted that George Zimmerman was headed for jail.
Everyone is a child of God, has a Buddha nature, Jesus loves, is worthy of respect.
Etc. and whatever.
Such is true.
But this man is bound and determined to get himself killed or arrested.
Okay he has been arrested thrice before killing Trayvon Martin. And the charges were dropped each time. So no one can say three’s the charm.
But now he is threatening his spouse who is filing for divorce and members of his estranged wife’s family.
With a gun. And a knife.
When there is no remorse or sadness for the victim and the family when someone, especially a child is killed, then things do not look promising.
He is an abuser, a bully, and a man with a gun. And Zimmerman clearly has anger issues.
There was an opportunity to put him away this summer. Jail him. Incarcerate him. Place him in prison.
Stand your ground notwithstanding; he could have been found guilty.
Also, SYG did not apply here. Zimmerman picked a fight, and when he felt he was losing, shot and killed an unarmed teenager.
The ground kept moving and it wasn’t his to begin with….
It’s amazing to what lengths the racist, radical rightwing went to defend a fat, creepy, unemployed, abusive man.
Imagine the ethical and emotional contortions needed to find that what Zimmerman did* was plausible let alone legal or moral.
Thankfully no one was killed during yesterday’s confrontation.
But this does not bode well for our hero, George.
*Inre what Zimmerman did refers directly to killing Trayvon Martin. But any of his actions apply as well.
