George Zimmerman, the infamous neighborhood watchman who was found “Not Guilty” last July in the highly publicized case for shooting unarmed teenager, Trayvon Martin in Florida, seems to continue appearing in the public eye in shocking way.
Zimmerman 30, who was recently involved in a domestic serious incident with his girlfriend in November, and in another domestic abuse case three months prior with his estrange wife, now wants to participate in a “celebrity boxing match" Pay-Per-View will host.
The young former security guard wants to fight New York rapper, DMX and admits it is his idea to get involved in this pay-per-view showdown.
“DMX has promised to ‘beat his ass,’ but no contract or paperwork has been signed or agreed to yet,” the rapper’s spokesman, Domenick Nati told CNN Wednesday.
Zimmerman’s pledge to fight DMX was all his plan and idea after reviewing all the 15,000 offers made to Zimmerman from other potential desperate fighters.
On Wednesday late afternoon on 107.5 WBLS, a New York radio station, the host of “Quake’s House” was even taking phone calls from listeners taking a poll and asking “Who should George Zimmerman fight?”
Most callers called in and said Zimmerman should fight Mike Tyson. Other callers mentioned Zimmerman should fight other professional boxers, as well as Ultimate Championship Fighters, or professional martial artist, Michael Jai White.
One caller was concerned and admitted that George Zimmerman “shouldn’t fight anybody.” The female caller was serious and mentioned nobody should be giving money to a “murderer.”
As for how Zimmerman even got involved in this upcoming match up, “A mutual friend put me in contact with Damon and provided me with an opportunity and motivation to get back in shape and continue with my weight loss goals and also be able to help a charity out,” said Zimmerman.
The upcoming Zimmerman vs. DMX match being promoted by self-proclaimed “opportunist” Damon Feldman, same producer and promoter who collaborated insane bouts involving infamous troublemakers like Tonya Harding, Joey Buttafuoco and Michael Lohan, could be scheduled for March 2014, but many are opposing to such contest.
“We must be very careful not to glorify or in any way sidestep the implications of making someone whose only claim to fame was killing an unarmed young man named Trayvon Martin into a cultural celebrity or hero, the Reverend Al Sharpton added about this planned fight.
Should this boxing match come to life or should it be knocked-out? What are your thoughts?
