"As of right now, (George Zimmerman) has been placed in investigative detention," Lake Mary police spokesman Zach Hudson said. "Anytime we have anybody suspected of doing anything, we place them in investigative detention until a complete investigation has been done."
The 911 call made at 2 pm by Shellie Zimmerman was released and was shared via ABC news. Shellie Zimmerman claims her husband punched her father in the nose and was taunting them with his hand gun.
"He's just threatening all of us with his firearm ... he's gonna shoot us!"
Shellie says George also smashed her iPad and slashed it with a pocket knife. She added, "I don't know what he's capable of."
This incident comes two months after Zimmerman was acquitted in the senseless murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford Florida, and one week after his wife Shellie Zimmerman files for divorce.
Shellie Zimmerman filed for divorce from husband George last week after almost 7 years of marriage. Shellie sat down with ABC’s Steve Osunsami and gave an in depth interview on the details of the divorce.
"I have a selfish husband. And I think George is all about George," she said.
Zimmerman also shared that her soon-to-be ex-husband seems as though he feels “more invincible” since being acquitted of the murder of an unarmed teen.
Zimmerman has also been stopped twice for speeding in Florida and Texas this past summer.
Zimmerman was stopped and for going 60 mph in a 45 mph zone in Lake Mary, Florida. He was given a citation for $256, WKMG reports. When stopped for speeding in Texas Zimmerman was let go with a warning.
Shellie and her father refused to provide a statement and Zimmerman will not been arrested, according to police.
