If this column is not wrong, Shellie Zimmerman is the only member of this family who has apologized for the death of a young man and seems to be truly remorseful.
And she is related by marriage.
But not for much longer.
She is divorcing George, who now places higher on Google search than Clooney or Lucas.
So ladies, he is available. Don’t all coming rushing at once.
Back to Shellie. She certainly stood by her man. She was there for the time prior to the trial and in court every day once the proceedings began.
According to her own account, she and her husband lived in a trailer in the woods between the indictment and the trial. She, who apparently does not carry a gun, tour gun factories, pose with said employees or shoot young men for no reason, was very fearful during this time.
Indications are that Shellie was an abused wife. She left the man trying to control and possibly hurt her the day before he killed Trayvon Martin. Anyone who has worked with domestic abuse cases certainly sees the connection.
Women in such relationships are most vulnerable when they stand up, take back their power and leave. The men, we are talking most cases, then seek to return their relationship to the unequal balance. Many women lose their lives at this point.
But sometimes a young man with candy is conveniently walking by.
The only reason Shellie had to lie during the initial bail hearing was because her husband was charged with murder. He was indicted for this because, and no one disputes this, he killed a 16-year-old child.
It can be inferred that her husband pushed – threatened, demanded- that she misrepresent their financial situation at this hearing. (Evidence his actions this week.)
Her husband continues to prove he is dangerous.
Well then, thank goodness he was acquitted of murder charges and can still carry a concealed weapon. And a knife.
Shellie: good luck and God’s speed.
