George Zimmerman is back in the news again. Just last week his wife, Shellie, filed for divorce from the Florida man who was found not guilty for the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin.
According to USA Today on Sept. 9, police said they are investigating an incident involving Zimmerman after Shellie reported that he was threatening her and her father, David Dean, with a gun at her father's house. About a half-dozen police squad cars showed up on the scene.
Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell said Shellie Zimmerman called police shortly after 2 p.m. on Monday.
Police officers are trying to get the complete story about what happened to cause the estranged wife to call the police. However, Zimmerman has not been arrested, but Zimmerman is in "investigative custody."
Zimmerman has been stopped by the police at least twice for speeding since his acquittal.
The estranged wife said their marriage of six years was irretrievably broken, and her husband had been acting like he was invincible after the trial.
In the divorce petition, Shellie says she and her husband separated on Aug. 13 after Zimmerman's trial.
