The George Washington women’s gymnastics team placed fourth at the Sweetheart Invitational on Saturday evening.
The meet was hosted by North Carolina State University who also won the meet with a team total of 195.675. The University of North Carolina took second with 195.550 followed by Pittsburgh who totaled 194.750 to take third. George Washington took fourth with 193.950 followed by William and Mary with 193.650 and Bowling Green with 193.300.
The GW women had one gymnast place in the top ten in the all-around with Senior Stephanie Stoicovy taking forth with a total of 38.975.
GW also had three gymnasts place on individual apparatuses. Sophomore Elena Corcoran placed third on vault scoring a 9.775. Senior Kayla Carto placed third on balance beam with a 9.850. And senior Stephanie Stoicovy placed third on floor exercise with a 9.875.
The George Washington women’s next meet will be against the University of Maryland, Pittsburgh and Bridgeport at Maryland on Friday, February 22.
