Former President George W. Bush sent the University of Alabama football team’s kicker, Cade Foster, a letter of support, according to a Dec. 12 report in CNN. Foster has received significant backlash after Alabama lost to their bitter rival, Auburn, in the 2013 Iron Bowl.
Wednesday night, Cade Foster, the most hated Alabama kicker of all time, posted a picture of a letter he received from George W. Bush, encouraging him not to listen to his critics.
Dear Cade (#43), Life has its setbacks. I know! However you will be a stronger human with time. I wish you all the best," former President George W. Bush wrote.
Cade Foster has received many death threats because of his performance in the Iron Bowl. Foster missed two different field goals and a third was blocked in the close match between Alabama and Auburn. Foster was finally sidelined by Nick Saban for the last kick of the game. Unfortunately, that kick was returned by Auburn for the game winning touchdown.
The game ending score was Auburn, 34, and Alabama, 28, crushing Bama’s hopes of winning its third straight national title.
Auburn plays Florida State in the BCS National Championship Game on Monday, January 6, 2014.
