George Strait is certainly riding a fast horse on his “The Cowboy Rides Away Tour.” GACTV reported yesterday how the veteran country singer sold out his stop at Los Angeles’ STAPLES Center in only nine minutes, after tickets went up for sale on September 27.
This last hurrah tour for Strait begins on January 9 in Bossier City, Louisiana, and will include a bevy of special guests. Artists slated to appear at various stops include Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Ronnie Dunn, Vince Gill, Merle Haggard, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Lee Ann Womack and Chris Young.
This tour marks Strait’s retirement from touring. Nevertheless, Strait will continue to record new albums. “It’s gonna be a little bittersweet for me,” Strait was quoted in Taste Of Country at the press conference to announce the tour. “It’s starting to sink in now after the first leg of the tour … it’s sinking in a little more and more every day.”
