Commentary from the liberterrain…
George Soros is quoted in a blog at the UK's Daily Mail as saying that if the US presidential election comes down to Obama and Romney, "there isn’t all that much difference except for the crowd that they bring with them."
This isn't even news to libertarians. The whole point of an engineered Obama/Romney runoff is to guarantee business as usual for the billionaire ruling classes of Oz who run both parties from behind the Wizard's curtain.
Romney is the white Obama. An election between the two would constitute little more than a coin flip; whichever side comes up it's still the same old debased copper/silver sandwich coin.
"The crowd" Soros says they bring with them refers, of course, to the usual ambulance chasing sycophants, flunkies, lackeys, leaches, parasites, suck-ups, power-pimps and subsidy whores who always fill the slots of modern statist government from department secretary to national egg inspector, as well as all the bottom-feeding special interest hustlers standing in line for handfuls of taxpayer loot.
It's why status quo big government Republicans and their running-dog statist Democrats keep pushing "electability" as the most important quality for a candidate.
"Electability" means, "It's okay to change the administration but don't change the status quo."
The biggest status quo changer would be Ron Paul, of course. It's why the George Soros ruling class types from both sides of the left/right heads/tails Republican/Democrat wings of the Big Government Party keeps vilifying him as "out of the mainstream."
It's a curious defamation to libertarians who don't play the thoroughly discredited left/right political game. Since it's the long line of Republican and Democrat mainstream political machines that brought us to the brink of today's welfare-warfare-police state-bankruptcy abyss in the first place, a label of "out of the mainstream" should be seen by rational voters as the highest quality a president could bring to the table.
People who fear and loath libertarianism actually fear change of any kind. Their lips are permanently attached to the breeding sow that is coerced government welfarism and they shudder at the prospect of anything that would detach their lips from the teat.
Since Soros agrees with Warren Buffett that billionaires should be taxed more, he should hand over his fortune to the national treasury and watch it disappear down the toilet hole along with everyone else's money.
Then maybe he'd finally get a clue.
