George Lucas is engaged to Mellody Hobson. The "Star Wars" director will wed his girlfriend of seven years, according to a Jan. 3, 2013 report by The Huffington Post.
Lucas has been married once before, to Marsha Griffin from 1969-1983. Just prior to dating Hobson, Lucas was romantically involved with Amy Allen, who is currently just 36 years old.
George Lucas donated the entire $4 million sum he received from Disney for the sale of Lucasfilm Ltd. The recipient of his generous gift was an education foundation. Mellody Hobson is fortunate to be engaged to such a caring and considerate individual with billions of dollars to spare.
Lucas is 68; at just 43, Hobson is significantly younger than he is. However, this businesswoman and "Good Morning America" financial contributor is obviously not an opportunist who is looking for money. She is a very successful career woman who just happened to fall in love with an older man. The glamorous bride-to-be is the president of a Chicago-based investment management firm, Ariel Investments LLC, which is a $3 billion investment firm.
It was not announced whether George Lucas became engaged to Mellody Hobson over the holidays, but the timing of the news seems to indicate that it's a possibility. Congratulations to the happy couple.
