George Lucas announces his engagement to Mellody Hobson. His proposal was reported in the San Francisco Chronicle on Jan. 4 and the Huffington Post on Jan 3 stating he finally popped the question after dating Mellody for the past seven years.
Mellody Hobson is 43 years old. She is the chairwoman for Dream Works Animation as well as the president of a Chicago based investment management firm, Ariel Investments and financial contributor to ABC’s, “Good Morning America”. She accepted the proposal to 68 year old George Lucas.
This film director is estimated to have made a total of $80 million from the movies’ gross, its toy sales and record spin-offs.
There are no plans set as to when the wedding arrangements will begin or to an exact date the marriage will commence as yet. This is the first marriage for Mellody and the second one for George. Lucas was previously married to Marcia Lucas, film director from 1969 until their divorce in 1983. They had three children together: Amanda, Katie and Jett.
We are all happy for the loving couple and are excited to hear when the big day will be announced.
Congratulations on your engagement, Mellody and George and the start of a new chapter in your lives!
