The late George “The Possum” Jones will be honored by the biggest names in country music at a sold out tribute concert at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The country music icon died in April at the age of 81 while on his farewell tour, “The Grand Tour.”
On Sept. 16 George’s widow Nancy Jones announced on the Official Website of George Jones that several more artists had been added to star-studded George Jones tribute concert. George Strait, who just announced his “The Cowboy Rides Away” tour, will join legends Reba McEntire, Charlie Daniels, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Tanya Tucker, The Oak Ridge Boys and Alabama in honoring the late “He Stopped Loving Her Today” singer/songwriter. Also scheduled to appear are Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Jamey Johnson, Dierks Bentley, Josh Turner and Montgomery Gentry.
The George Jones Tribute Concert, which is already sold out, will take place on November 22 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
