George Harrison's 'All Things Must Pass' returns to vinyl in November reissue

The line of Beatle products available for the holiday buying season just got bigger. George Harrison's 1970 album "All Things Must Pass" will be re-released in a limited edition, numbered 180-gram vinyl set in its original 3LP configuration on Nov. 26 and available exclusively through independent record stores in the U.S., EMI/Capitol Records announced Tuesday.

The reissue, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the album's release, will include replicated original monochromic album art, a poster and lift-top box packaging.

The album package, which was remastered at Abbey Road Studios from the original analog master tapes, will be sold exclusively through Record Store Day participating independent music retailers.  "All Things Must Pass" will also be available for download purchase in audiophile quality digital format (96Khz/24 bit) exclusively at www.georgeharrison.com on the same day.

My ???? would be is it taken from an all analog master or has it been in the digital domain ???

My old copy has all the correct Lp's but has a misprinted label....think it's worth something ?? :)

  • Anonymous 1 year ago

Any misprints may be valuable. Check with Records Collectors, a UK magazine.

GREAT TO SEE A GEORGE STORY HERE! (Sorry but I'm sick to death of the Lennon birthday coverage; and squeamish about the fact that it was mostly driven by Yoko and EMI to sell more CDS -- more, more, more).

This, at least, seems like something nice for serious vinyl collectors.

I still have my original copy, in pretty good shape! Could be the best post Beatle album!

Oh, I'm going to try and get my hands on this! Thanks for the news! :D

This is one of my all time favorite releases!!! That being said, I am a bit disappointed at this news because it was just re-released by George for the 30th anniversary and this has nothing new. I would have liked to see a bonus LP with some acoustic or demo tracks from this LP which are everywhere in the underground collecting circles. Oh well. Still a GREAT album.

    Awesome-more rehashes.

I guess the Beatles/Estates are broke and need more money.

Any idea what the price of the set will be?

    I'm trying to find out...

The manufacturer's suggested retail (list) price is $59.98, but each dealer sets their own price and you should be able to find it for less than that.

I too have the original LP set and the 30th Anniversary edition with the bonus songs. I hope they do not compress or limit the 96Khz/24 bit download and that they will have no DRM so we can burn it to DVD-R. We will miss "I Live for You", a great song that should have been released in the early 1970's.

The audiophile/collector in me is tempting me to pop for this newly remastered 40th anniversary vinyl of ATMP. That's if I can get it at a decent price! Btw.....what ever happened to The Beatles Remastered vinyl box set that was supposed to be released around this time?

Any first impressions yet from those who picked it up?
Old vinyl vs new vinyl comparisons? I'd like to know.

My husband has the George Harrison Album All To Must Pass that has side 2 misprint with side 4 label. How many people have seen the side 2 misprint label of All Things Must Pass where the side 4 label is placed there instead of side 2 label? All the songs on side 4 misprint have been lined off with side 2 songs printed neatly underneath and side 4 with a line through it with side 2 printed neatly underneath it. Records are in mint condition and never played. The box is a bit rough.
