The Harrison coat, lot number 1454 and which has “George Harrison” embroidered inside of it, was given by Harrison to Kathleen Waters in 1971, the auction house says. It describes the coat as leather lined, extremely well made and in excellent condition. It said the coat is believed to have been carried by Eric Clapton as he and George got off a plane.

The three letters, all sent to to the police officer who arrested Mark David Chapman, are all contained in lot number 1263. One, dated March 10, 1983, mentions Chapman noticing some “unusual” occurrences regarding Lennon's death. “.. I am investigating many such “'unusual' occurrences surrounding the death of John Lennon … I am labeling it a phenomenon, although I am not sure what to call it,” he says in the letter. “Someday you will know all the facts.”

He also promotes his interest in the book “A Catcher in the Rye,” which Chapman had in his possession when he was arrested for killing Lennon, and says, “'The Catcher in the Rye' IS the statement” and in one letter, asks for help in getting his copy of the book back.

The Beatles photograph, lot 1418, is signed on the back by all four Beatles and comes with a certificate of authenticity letter on the back from autograph expert Frank Caiazzo. The item is matted with a “Meet the Beatles!” window card.

Other items in the auction include a Beatles "Rock 'n' Roll Music" album painting, Beatles/Murray the K reel-to-reel tapes and a Velvet Underground Album, signed by Andy Warhol and Lou Reed.
