The film, which uses rare and never-before-seen footage from George Harrison’s childhood, his years as a Beatle, and the ups and downs of his solo career, traces Harrison's life from his birth in 1943 to his passing in 2001. It includes interviews with Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono, and Olivia and Dhani Harrison, among many others, who talk openly about his talent and the lives they shared.

Additionally, in October, Abrams Books will publish Olivia Harrison’s “George Harrison: Living in the Material World,” a personal archive of photographs, letters, diaries and memorabilia from George’s life that reveals his life from his boyhood in Liverpool, to the the Beatle years and his days as an independent musician. The book release is intended to coincide with the release of Scorsese’s film.
