As the airdate for "George Harrison: Living in the Material World," coming on HBO, gets closer, the former Beatle will be the subject of two upcoming magazine covers.
Filter magazine (issue #45) will have a feature called "I Want To Tell You: A New Generation Remembers George Harrison." "Rather than pay tribute by looking backward -- searching for familiar anecdotes from Claptons and Starrs and Lynnes," -- we’ve summoned the new generation to weigh in on what “The Quiet One” means to them. To us," the magazine says in describing the feature, which it says has "the blessings of and contributions by the Harrison family."
Some of those interviewed include Olivia Harrison, Dhani Harrison, Jim James, RZA, Regina Spektor, Ben Harper, John Doe, Jon Brion and Dean Ween.
Meanwhile, MOJO magazine's November issue will be a special commemorative issue with Harrison on the cover. The cover story will be a feature, "The Quiet One Remembered," with comments from Beatles Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney, plus Olivia Harrison, Wilburys Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne and others.
In addition to the article, the magazine will also include a free CD, "Harrison Covered," with covers of his songs by Richie Havens, Yim Yames, Graham Nash, Ron Sexsmith, Show of Hands and others.
