George Harrison doc to be shown in Hawaii benefit screening

The Martin Scorsese documentary "George Harrison: Living in the Material World" will be screened in a benefit premiere in Hawaii at 6 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Castle Theater at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center.
 
This event is a fundraiser by the Maui Film Festival and the Maui Tomorrow Foundation to support the Bringing Back Baldwin Beach – The “Trees Please” Project, a commitment to re-plant indigenous Hawaiian trees on Maui.
 
The former Beatle had a connection to the state. He owned a secluded 63-acre site in Nahiku. After his death, a neighbor in the area who was interviewed by the Hawaii Star-Bulletin called him "kind, open and hospitable."
