Pat Tyson sent us several pictures that you will see here, along with her comments. “The event started at 6:00 p.m. Jerry Rubin, the usual organizer at these events, was not there this time, and star polisher Dennis Garling presided in Jerry's place. Chris Carter (Breakfast With the Beatles DJ at KLOS) addressed the crowd.

Chris enthusiastically told the crowd that he had gotten a phone call from George’s wife Olivia! "She gave me a message for the fans, thanking them for their love and support. It was such a thrill to see my Caller I.D. indicate a call from ‘Friar Park’!”

Pat continued, “Chris handed out Dark Horse emblems to the crowd and said they are becoming a rare item! Of course he then participated in cutting the birthday cake! Fans sang Happy Birthday to George, while others held out a Union Jack flag." (see photos in slide show.)

George Harrison passed away November 29, 2001 of lung cancer, in Los Angeles. He is remembered at the Hollywood Walk of Fame Star every year on his birthday and anniversary of his death.
