George David Keaton Explains Holistic Living

Living holistically is an understanding that the mind, body and soul are interconnected and that who you are and how you live affects all other living organisms around you. Living holistically means that a person is living their life with intentions, intentions to breathe, eat and carry on their daily activities as naturally as possible. It means making the connection that your physical and emotional being are one and that the health of your being affects every other aspect of your life. Living holistically means eating organic foods, keeping the mind and body active, and practicing forms of stress relief such as meditation and yoga. Holistic living is being aware of self and surroundings and making conscious choices for a healthy environment, including all areas of health: mental, physical, spiritual and social.

New Year, New You - An Inner Cleanse for 2014

The beginning of a brand new year can be a wonderful time of reflection. A time to look back and to look forward, to let go and to be open to new opportunities. 2014 is a blank page and George David Keaton encourages using the new year and the clean slate as a time to focus on developing a self-affirming mindset and a self-nurturing love and respect.

One of George David Keaton’s keys to building a holistic new you is creating peace within. This naturally develops as you focus on discovering appreciation and forgiveness. Self-perception, what you believe about yourself, is a powerful, driving tool for a healthy outlook on life. Forgiveness releases deeply buried negativity. Getting to know who you are and forgiving yourself is an important act of moving forward into a holistic new year. It's also a way of protecting your health and general well-being.

Stress management exercises such as meditation and yoga are important ways to bring peace within, they demand focusing attention to your core and removing any other noise or negative emotion within. It is a form of stress relief as you clear away thoughts and to do lists and the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress and anxiety. This brings a sense of calm, peace and balance that benefits your overall health. Meditation produces a deep state of relaxation and a tranquil mind and the health benefits last long past the end of a session.

Creating a Naturally Healthy Environment

Keaton stresses the importance of learning to bring your body back to its natural, fully-functioning, strong and healthy state with healthy and affordable foods. Keaton’s holistic approach to nutrition suggests eating raw and minimally processed whole living foods as much as possible to bring nutrition to the body and reduce one’s dietary impact on the environment. You can plant a garden- herbs, fruits and vegetables, anything you like that is regionally sustainable, or if you can't grow your own produce, find a Farmers' Market in your area to support. Locally grown/produced produce or locally sourced meats and seafood have considerably more nutritional value than anything from a regular grocer.

One of the easiest ways to get started with a holistic home is creating a recycling plan in your home and repurposing items when possible, and using natural, homemade cleaning products that strengthen the environment you live in. Other ways to get started are switching to energy efficient appliances, start small, light bulbs for instance, one small change with a noticeable impact. Drive less, combine errands and grocery runs together as much as possible to reduce your carbon footprint. Each step brings intention back to who you are and how you treat the world.

Mastering a Balanced & Healthy Lifestyle

George David Keaton’s holistic method is the art of living in balance with ourselves and our environment. It is being a good steward of the natural gifts of the earth and respecting that all things are interconnected and consciously contributing to a better lifestyle. It is about taking responsibility for one’s actions and choices in the knowledge that these choices have consequences for all living things on the planet. Keaton’s instructions bring balance in all areas of life: health, relationships, spirituality, and even finances that are impacted by a healthier work life. “This balance is how one achieves a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lifestyle,” says George David Keaton, “with a connection to the universe, other people, and your immediate environment.”
