According to E!, MTV has confirmed that the telethon is in the works, but at this point the details are sketchy. It is expected to air Jan. 22 across all of MTV's platforms, including VH1. Celebs will be participating from both coasts.

Showbiz411 reports that Clooney only had to mention it to Sting and he was on board.

Many stars have taken advantage of new media to get people to donate to charities for the Hatian disaster.  Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Ashton Kutcher, John Legend, Alyssa Milano and Selena Gomez are among the celebs that have used their status to try to encourage people to give.

Wyclef Jean, who is a native of Haiti, has a charity, called Yelé Haiti Foundation, which is donating 100% of the proceeds to the relief effort.

If you would like to donate in the Lehigh Valley area, you can find info at the Morning Call website of ways to help out.
