Ready to start the new year by finally trying some geocaching?
What exactly is geocaching you ask?
Maybe you've heard about it online. Maybe you know someone who geocaches. Some local geocachers are available to help you get started.
Rather than going on the adventure alone and not understanding (and perhaps confusing yourself in the process), consider joining some experienced local cachers for a morning of geocaching education and fun. They'll glady explain geocaching and show you the ropes.
A planned introduction to geocaching event is scheduled for Saturday February 4th, 2012.
Co-hosted by the South Kingston Parks & Recreation Department, the “Geocaching 101” event will give the inexperienced some guidance and hands on experience. When the “training” is over, there will be some nearby geocaches for everyone to practice finding.
Event Details:

Geocachers of all experience levels and ages are encouraged to join the fun. A GPS is required to geocache, so be sure to bring either your GPS or your smartphone (that has a GPS) if you have one.
