Geocaching Massachusetts: Tying the Knot on 10-10-10

There are many ways to “tie the knot.” We’ve all seen the wedding videos on television: underwater, skydiving, and bungee jumping; to name a few. For an engaged couple in Massachusetts, an event is being held by a friend as vows are being exchanged.

Mark the date. On 10-10-10, New England geocachers Mike aka LeftyFB and Sara aka Deviousdragen have fellow geocacher EvilTree to thank for arranging an event where it all started.  “I thought it would be fitting to send them off at a Cache Event in their honor at this very park he proposed and on the very day, time and location they will be marry.”

Event Details:

GC2CFD4 : Tying the Knot on 10-10-10 at 1:30 PM at Maudslay State Park in Newburyport, MA

The actual wedding and the scheduled geocaching event are separate, but those out for the search have the opportunity to win two custom "Tying the knot on 10-10-10" geo-coins, designed by the Bride and Groom.

Warmest best wishes to Mike and Sara .. I can't think of a better way than Tying the Knot to celebrate a couple's love for each other in addition to the fun and excitement geocaching brings to those of us who love the hobby/sport!

Thanks for posting the article! It's going to be a great wedding and great event. The event will take place directly after the ceremony. Sara and I will be stopping in at the event to sign the log, quickly meet other cachers and take lots of pictures before heading over to the reception.

As for the coins given out the event, these will be given out to the guests at the wedding and are also for sale for anyone who is interested. See the following site for details: http://coins.thepenguinpalace.net

Hope to see you all there at the event!
