According to WNDU.com on Dec. 16, a rather generous gaming geek is giving up free board games for Christmas. Board game geek, Tim the Gameboard Guru, has decided to part with his collection by giving away an inordinate surplus of games he has accumulated over the years. He decided that he has so much taking up space at home, he figured he'd not only sell some of products, but also give them away for Christmas to help children get out of the habit of playing video games and interact more so with other people.
“I believe electronics and video games have ruined communication between parents and their children,” says board game collector Tim. “We need to sit down with our kids, interact with them and talk to them about what's going on".
Tim's purpose is to be an advocate of family time by using board games as a tool to bring people together. He has a collection of more than 2,500 altogether and of that 1,500 are unique. He also has 50 different variants of the "Monopoly" game.
Also, if you're interested in interactive gaming among people in your local area, feel free to use the Meetup social website. It's a great social networking site where people can gather together in real time locally in South Bend, Ind., as well as worldwide, to play board games and partake in other special interests.
