The vehicle made its debut in Carmel, California, at the annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The concept is similar to the Ciel convertible concept that debuted in Carmel, two years ago. This two-door grande coupe also draws design cues from the famous 1967 El Dorado.
The Elmiraj is 205 inches in length and is rear-wheel drive. It is powered by a 4.5-liter twin turbocharged V8.
General Motors has indicated that it is developing a larger vehicle to grow the Cadillac brand. This concept is longer than any of the current Cadillac sedans. GM is not saying when the Elmiraj might go into production.
Designers at GM’s North Hollywood studio envisioned the concept. The actual vehicle was hand built in Michigan. El Mirage Lake is a dry lake bed in the Mojave Desert. It is known for hosting high speed time trials.
