General Mills and DC comics partner together for Monster Cereal designs

General Mills has just announced today Aug. 6, that DC Comics have partnered with them to create exclusive illustrations on each box of everyone's favorite monster cereals, Boo Berry, Count Chocula, and Franken Berry. For many these cereals are part of a Halloween tradition.

DC Comics illustrator Jim Lee and the creative team were on the job to take their own spins on the classic cereals. It was Jim Lee that was the one that created the Boo Berry design, he's known for his work on "Batman," "The Justice League," and "Superman." Take a look at his design of Boo Berry here. Dave Johnson was the one that created a new design for Franken Berry. You can see Johnson's design here.

It was artists Terry and Rachel Dodson that added their own spin to the popular cereal Count Chocula. Take a look at their spin on the Count here.

So that's the new designs that DC has done for General Mills and the Monster Cereals. On the back of the boxes there are also custom comic strips for each box.

Lauren Pradhan, the marketing manager behind the Monster Cereals, stated that they wanted to keep the monsters the same as everyone knows and loves, but they also wanted to add that new DC twist. From what it looks like, it seems that this new creative design works great!

If you are feeling more nostalgic don't worry General Mills also made an announcement today, Target once again will be featuring the retro boxes at their stores. Count Chocula and Franken Berry have been around since 1971 and Boo Berry followed 2 years after them in 1973.

The Monster cereals will be available at select U.S. retailers soon and will be at stores nationwide by September. Also this year in Canada, Franken Berry and Count Chocula will be available at select retailers. So this is exicting news for fans of the Monster Cereals.
