Classic Car in Tribeca hosts some memorable events and the General Idea show was no exception. Chiseled, half-dressed male models caught the attention of all in attendance at General Idea. Fashion-forward looks for spring and some inventive simple style was sported at the General Idea show. http://www.generalidea.co.kr/
Over at Pier 59, many presentations and fashion week runway shows also were taking place. In addition to the home base at Lincoln Center, Pier 59 is a popular venue less expensive venue than booking the studio, stage or box over at LC.
With fantastic views of the Hudson River, the A’Detacher SS14 collection was the perfect space at Chelsea Piers. A’Detacher reminds me of a Scandinavian school girl look meets edgy club kid. This time around, models sported crazy, matted bob haircuts with a modern flip-like twist. The patterns on the dresses were very crisp, wearable as well as cute.
Chunky wedge-like sneakers finished off the look at A’Detacher. Later in the evening, the Zero Zero book launch took place over in the Meatpacking District. Zero Zero was a very surreal experience. Models wore bib-like aprons with something that looked a lot like blood splattered over them and it was like an oven in the space, quickly we made our way to the next room where it was packed full of people, yet everyone seemed to have a good time over at the Zero Zero book launch.
Fashion Week is always full of surprises, so please check back for more on the FWSS14 front.
