For months there has been speculation that the role of Jason Morgan would be recast. “General Hospital” writers made that reference months ago, and it looks like the “NuJason” will be revealed on-screen soon. According to a September 2 report from Soap Opera Digest, the role of Jason Morgan will be played by “The Young and the Restless” alum, Billy Miller. For months there was denial about Miller being sought for the role, but several media outlets were reporting it. Now that the cat is out of the bag, fans can make a decision on whether or not Miller fits.

While Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati very rarely comment on casting, they took to Twitter today to announce the news. Fans are excited that Jason Morgan will be brought back to Port Charles, but there are still many questions surrounding how the character will act. Will Billy Miller be playing Jason before the accident, or the stoic mob enforcer? The answer to that question will decide how well “General Hospital” fans will warm up to the recast.

There has been a two-year span without Jason Morgan on “General Hospital,” and a lot has changed. With Billy Miller stepping into the role, fans are questioning the chemistry factor. Kelly Monaco (Sam) and Steve Burton (ex-Jason) had undeniable chemistry, and it likely won't be the same for Monaco and Miller. An official air date for Billy Miller has yet to be released, but fans can count on it being soon. More than likely Miller has been taping, which puts the scenes airing in around six weeks.
