General Hospital” fans are disappointed with the announcement of the Daytime Emmy nominees. There were several powerful story lines and many of the actors were snubbed this year. According to a May 1 report from CBS News, “General Hospital” was nominated for just 16 Emmys. The CBS soaps “The Young and The Restless” and “The Bold and The Beautiful” were nominated for 28 and 18 respectively.

Kelly Sullivan was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for her portrayal as Connie Falconeri. Several fans were upset when “General Hospital” let her go. This is Sullivan's chance to shine and prove the writers were wrong. It was quite a shock to see Sullivan on the short list, and fans look forward to watching her attend the show in June.

The complete list of nominations breaks all the categories down for fans. “General Hospital” was not nominated for favorite soap this year. Many of the nominations across the board are from the CBS soap “The Young and The Restless.” Ironically, fan-favorite Steve Burton who played Jason Morgan left “General Hospital” to head over and play Dylan McAvoy on “The Young and The Restless.”

With the younger actor and actress nominations, “General Hospital” will probably do well. Fans believe that Kristen Alderson (Kiki Jerome) and Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos Jr.) have a shot at winning. Bryan Craig (Morgan Corinthos) is also nominated and given his performance since arriving in Port Charles, fans are not counting him out.

“General Hospital” fans are looking forward to seeing how the Daytime Emmys will play out. There is hope that some of the actors and actresses will bring home the coveted award for their excellent performances. The Daytime Emmys will be taking place on June 22 in Beverly Hills. Last year the HLN network aired the awards, but there is no word yet on whether or not the Daytime Emmys will be aired live again this year.
