Soap star Teresa Castillo has just announced that she is indeed pregnant. The actress who plays Sabrina Santiago on ABC’s “General Hospital” was rumored to be expecting and according to People on Dec. 30, it is now confirmed. She also revealed that she is having a baby girl.
This is Castillo's first child with her husband of five years, Shane Aaron. They are both excited and looking forward to meeting their daughter this coming spring. The soap star's due date is May 24.
How will this pregnancy affect her character on the ABC daytime drama? It looks like the storyline will have Sabrina pregnant as well. She has just been dumped by her fiance’ Patrick Drake after his wife Robin came back from the dead. “General Hospital” is notorious for bringing the dead back to life. Before the couple could say ‘I do,’ Robin appeared and Patrick made his ultimate choice to get his family back.
Rumors are saying that Patrick will think this baby is his when it really belongs to Sabrina’s ex, Carlos. Does this sound familiar? This is the second time in a year that the good Dr. Drake thinks he is going to be a daddy but really isn’t. Will she end up telling him the truth? This will make for an interesting start to 2014.
However, in real life, Teresa Castillo is thrilled to have this bundle of joy to look forward to in a few short months. “It feels wonderful. This is the most joyous time of my life,” the expectant mom said. “It feels great to finally be able to share it with the world.”
Catch Teresa Castillo and the rest of the “General Hospital” gang weekdays at 2 p.m. EST on ABC.
