‘General Hospital’s Kin Shriner dishes on his role as Scotty Baldwin

General Hospital” is bringing back another beloved character for their upcoming 50th anniversary. Kin Shriner makes his highly anticipated return to daytime television. He dished to TV Guide on Feb. 7 about his return to Port Charles and how much he loves playing the role of Scotty Baldwin.

Shriner calls his “GH” days the best job he ever had. Now that he is back to playing his famous character, he is happy to be back among old friends. He is set to appear on the soap next week, just in time for Valentine’s Day. This is where he will once again come face to face with the man who took away his bride back in the 1980s. Won’t Luke Spencer be surprised to see him?

“My goal is to always keep playing Scotty, which I've now done in five different decades, which is crazy! He's been through so many incarnations, what with hundreds of writers, plus my own meddling,” the “GH” vet said. “He's been a goodie and a baddie. Hey, when you're happily wed to a woman who runs off with her rapist, it'll tarnish you. I'm just wondering who else they can dig up for the 50th”

The soap star has kept his friendship strong with his co-stars from years past, which includes on-screen wife Genie Francis, and also Lynn Herring. They have both come back to reprise their original roles. Shriner is also hoping that John Stamos will reprise his role as Blackie Parrish. The ABC soap gave the dark haired hottie his career boost back in the day. Shriner gushed about Stamos and called him his footman and go-to guy. In fact, Stamos recently tweeted a photo of him and his pal at their old stomping grounds.

Shriner also mentioned that he would love to have Richard Dean Anderson, aka “MacGyver,” back to add to their ‘80s family. Wouldn’t that be totally awesome to have Ricky back as Jeff Webber?

Are you excited to have Kin Shriner back at “General Hospital?” How do you think this will all play out with Luke and Laura?
