A lot has been going on with “General Hospital” over the last several weeks. Two major story lines are ready to close out and new mysteries are popping up all over the place. Donna Mills signed on to play Madeline Reeves a few months ago. It was mentioned when she was brought on, it was going to be for a small stint, nothing long-term. According to an April 8 report from Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Donna Mills will soon be exiting “General Hospital” because she cannot handle what the work entails. While it may not be a cake-walk, Mills is familiar with the way soap operas work and is doing her best at getting everything done on time.
When Madeline Reeves arrived in Port Charles, she shook things up. Fans found out that Nathan West was really James Nathan Reeves, Nina Clay's younger brother. In an attempt to catch the real culprit who hurt Nina, a sting was set-up. Nathan, Silas, and Sam provided a trap and Madeline walked right into it. She admitted to what she did to Nina, and it all happened because Nina was pregnant with Silas' child. In order to resolve this story line, “General Hospital” writers had to bring Donna Mills on as Nina's mother.
Donna Mills signed on for a short stint and she has really done well with the character. More than likely she will be exiting “General Hospital;” not because she can't handle the work, but because her work is complete. There really isn't any point in keeping her around while being locked in a jail cell. Fans should expect Mills to stick around a little longer while the story line closes.
