You never want to underestimate the enemy when you live in Port Charles. On the Jan. 8 episode of “General Hospital”, Julian may have underestimated Sonny, but he may have underestimated his little sister Ava even more. Heather began to follow out her plan to kill Carly and Sam found out a shocking detail about Silas’ past.

Things got intense between Julian (William deVry) and Ava (Maura West) as Julian told Ava about implanting Morgan (Bryan Craig) as a mole in Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) organization. At first Julian told Ava that he allowed Morgan to leave, but after Ava refused to believe it, Julian let her in on his plan, which Ava concluded was very dangerous because Sonny would never buy it because of her relationship with Morgan. When Julian told her that he ended their relationship, Ava became furious which led to a subtle threat from Julian who revealed his willingness to hurt his own family. Ava, however, didn’t back down from her big brother. She threatened him right back. The biggest threat to the Jerome family seems to be themselves.

Did Sonny buy that Morgan was able to leave the Jeromes so easily? Sonny knows the business and knows the target that is on Morgan’s back because he knows way too much. But Morgan was able to finally convince him by again challenging how much Sonny loves him. He told Sonny that he stood up to Julian and broke things off with Ava. After explaining how much Morgan put his organization at risk, Sonny promised to protect his son, but what will happen when Sonny learns of a deeper betrayal?

Heather Webber (Robin Mattson) is one woman who can never be underestimated. If there was one person who could be buried alive, dig herself out and come back healthy to kill her son’s girlfriend, it is Heather. After avoiding being seen by Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeaman), Heather took Carly (Laura Wright) back to her house where she continued to hold her hostage. Heather told Carly about Franco (Roger Howarth) “killing” her. The revelation shocked Carly but she instantly tried to use it in her favor, but Heather wasn’t buying it and told Carly that the best revenge against her son was to kill the woman he loves. Meanwhile, at the Metro Court, Franco tried to reach Carly but doesn’t know where she is. In the meantime he attempted to bond with this father Scott (Kin Shriner) who told him once again that he wanted nothing to do with him. Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) then confronted Franco about missing his appointment. Kevin knows about him “killing” Heather and feels he owes it to himself as well as Carly to continue his therapy sessions.

Silas (Michael Easton) had some explaining to do to Sam (Kelly Monaco) who confronted him about his wife. She told him that Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) went to her with questions about him. Silas was angry that Nathan went to Sam but then finally came clean to Sam who demanded to know what was going on because she does not like being “the other woman”. Silas explained about his wife Nina and how she went into a coma after trying to commit suicide when she found out about his affair with Ava. Sam was very disappointed because she instilled trust in him, but also wanted to know why a detective is investigating the case.

Nathan explained the reason why to Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) as elsewhere in Port Charles, Dante met his new partner who filled him in on Silas Clay. Dante was a bit distracted with Lulu (Emme Rylan) leaving him. At the Metro Court, Lulu spent some time with Luke (Anthony Geary) and told him she left Dante because she couldn’t get past the fact that he didn’t lie for her. Scott made another run for Lucy’s affection but Lucy was focused on rebuilding her marriage with Kevin.
