As one storyline begins to heat up, another seems to coming to a dramatic climax. On the October 7 episode of “General Hospital” Anna (Finola Hughes) was shocked to hear that Robin (Kimberly McCullough) is alive while Luke (Anthony Geary) was surprised to see a familiar face come to his rescue.
You would think by now that any character on a soap opera wouldn’t be completely shocked when someone returns from the dead. Anna’s hesitation to believe Robert (Tristian Rogers) that their daughter Robin is alive is understandable from her point of view as a mother. She doesn’t want to set her heart up for disappointment and she doesn’t want to allow grief to cloud her judgment as it did when Faison tricked her into believing he was Duke. On Monday’s episode, Robert told Anna that she remembered everything and that Dr. Obrecht has their daughter. He told Anna that by finding Dr. Obrecht, she would be finding and saving their daughter. Anna was still hesitant to believe Robert but came to the conclusion that she would have to find answers from Faison. She needs to know for sure before she goes out searching for a daughter she believed was dead for over a year.
On Cassadine Island, Robin used her Scorpio skills to trick Dr. Obrecht into a position where she could knock her out and escape, but unfortunately she ran into Jerry (Sebastian Roche) who dared her to try to freeze the lab where the cure was. Robin demanded that Jerry let her go because in her mind she was determined that she is going home to her family. With baby Ben in her arms she pushed the button to freeze the lab and kill Dr. Obrecht, but nothing happened and Jerry applauded her ruthlessness and demanded she go back and work on the cure. Later Dr. Obrecht awakened very angry with Robin but also disappointed that she let her guard up. Jerry was also disappointed and worried that her recklessness would ruin their plan. Obrecht told him not to worry and it was time for her to visit Faison. Will she run into Anna as they will both be visiting him at the same time?
Meanwhile Luke’s (Anthony Geary) health continued to deteriorate as Jerry ordered to keep him alive to be his guinea pig in case Robin was trying to kill him with the cure. When Jerry and the guards left, Tracy (Jane Elliot) showed up in disguise and told Luke that he called for her in a vision that Olivia had. She told him not to underestimate him and that she will help him get the cure but the best strategy might be to let the cure come to them. Right now for Luke, he knows he is basically a “dead man” if he leaves the island empty handed without the cure.
Derek Wells (William deVry) and Ava Jerome (Maura West) aren’t exactly psychopaths but they are just as dangerous. Now that Sonny (Maurice Benard) is back on his meds, he is focused on finding out the people responsible for screwing around with his business. He wants to show whoever it is that he runs Port Charles, but he also has to worry about a family issue as Carly (Laura Wright) told Sonny that Ava seduced their son Morgan (Bryan Craig) and that she is taking advantage of the situation. Sonny told Carly that they have to be smart with how they approach the situation because Morgan is already upset and they don’t want to force him further into Ava’s arms.
Elsewhere, Derek found out about Ava being with a younger man and later he found out that younger man was no other than Morgan Corinthos, the son of the man they are trying to bring down. Morgan overheard Ava and Derek talking about Sonny and raised the question after Derek left the penthouse. Later, a shirtless Derek got a visit from Carly who demanded he tell her the whereabouts of Ava.
