The comings and goings of Kimberly McCullough will continue to tug at the emotions of “General Hospital” fans this summer. According to Soaps In Depth Monday, McCullough will be bringing her onscreen persona back to Port Charles. This will open up more questions and speculation about a possible Jason Morgan recast.
Robin broke the hearts of her loved ones the last time she was seen in Port Charles as Robin supposedly went off to Africa to help those in need. In reality, she was sought out by Victor Cassadine to help bring Jason back from the dead. Patrick (Jason Thompson) knew the real reason she was leaving after just coming back into his life, but was not happy with the decision and the fact that she was leaving him and their daughter Emma. Leaving them was an action that was unforgivable for Patrick.
A big question that will arise when Robin returns is whether she will have Jason with her. With heightened rumors of former “Young and the Restless” star Billy Miller joining the show; a possible recast of Jason Morgan appears to be the direction the show is going in. Did Robin succeed at reviving her former flame or will she be back in Port Charles for another reason?
Whatever the reason, Robin back in Port Charles will bring drama. Executive producer Frank Valentini confirmed the news of Robin’s return, but is tight lipped about what’s to come. The confirmation comes after McCullough tweeted to a photo to her fans last night with the note, “A day in the life of a soap actor. Say ‘soap-y’ I dare you. #notthewholescript #onlymyscenes.”
Robin’s return could also mean the end of her marriage to Patrick, which would be bad news for the fans of the couple. Patrick is heartbroken after the death of his newborn child and is not able to forgive his wife for not coming back to help him. To Patrick, Jason is Robin’s priority and it may be time for Dr. Drake to move on.
