Soap operas have been a dying breed. Years ago there were daytime and primetime soaps that kept fans intrigued each week. "General Hospital" is the lone survivor from the ABC line up and is still going strong. Several actors have returned and there have been a few cross-over actors from "One Life to Live." Reports have been circulating about a huge casting on the show and fans have been speculating who they thought would be arriving in Port Charles. According to a Jan. 17 report from Entertainment Weekly, Donna Mills will be joining the cast of "General Hospital." Mills is set to be seen at the end of February and further details were not given.

Donna Mills is best known for being on the primetime soap "Knot's Landing." She is an older woman and fans are a bit puzzled as to how she will fit in. Some believe she may be headed to the canvas as Olivia Jerome. While it is true that Olivia is said to be dead, anything can happen in the world of daytime. There are a few other theories including the fact that she could be a Cassadine, although fans aren't sure on a name.

Everything surrounding this casting has been very quiet. There weren't any rumors circulating and it looks like "General Hospital" staff kept things very low-key. Donna Mills will appear at the end of February sweeps for the first time and will be involved heavily in a storyline. "General Hospital" airs weekdays on ABC.
