2014 promises to be an exciting year on ‘General Hospital.’ The popular ABC soap will add a number of impressive actors to its current cast.

Shirley Jones – the actress best known as David Cassidy’s mother on ‘The Partridge Family’ will appear February 5.

According to TV Guide’s Michael Logan (per an ABC rep), Jones’ character ‘comes across a suspicious gravedigger late one night at the cemetery and takes her suspicions to Dante Falconeri [Dominic Zamprogna] at the PCPD, thinking this might have something to do with the fugitive the police are looking for.’

Also joining the ‘GH’ family is veteran actress Donna Mills (ex Abby, ‘Knots Landing’). All we know so far is that Mills will air late next month.

Finally, Ilene Kristen (ex Roxy, ‘One Life to Live’) will reprise the role of Delia – mother of Ava Jerome.

Unfortunately, there’s some bad news to report as well. Kim McCullough’s (Robin) highly anticipated return is almost over. The popular actress will wrap things up next week.

‘It feels like it went by really fast. I am kind of sad, but I am excited because I just got my next directing shadowing project, which is on Grey’s Anatomy, so I will be right next door to GH,’ McCullough told journalist Michael Fairman about her recent return.

The actress also said she’s open to another return to the soap. As for how Robin’s exit will go down, we’ll have to wait and see.

In other ‘GH’ news, former fan favorite Steve Burton (ex Jason Morgan) and his wife will welcome their third child this summer. The baby is due in July.

Also, fans can join Michigan’s Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) on March 8 at Habitat for Humanity’s Annual Fan Build Day.

Jimmy Deshler (Rafe), William deVry (Julian), Kathleen Gati (Obrecht), Maura West (Ava), Lisa LoCicero (Olivia), Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth), Robin Mattson (Heather), Kelly Thiebaud (Britt) and Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) will also be on hand at the event.

LoCicero and her former co-star Brandon Barash (ex Johnny) came up with the idea for the event.

‘The highlight is always when the family who has just received the keys to their new house stands up and talks about how it really very directly and specifically changed their life. When you see the person that this work is affecting and how it affects their life, you can't help but be really, really moved,’ the actress told Soaps in Depth.

‘General Hospital’ airs weekdays at 2pm on Detroit’s local ABC affiliate WXYZ Channel 7.
