“General Hospital” has been without the character Jason Morgan since Steve Burton departed the role to join the cast of “The Young and the Restless” as Dylan McAvoy. But Jason is not quite dead and fans expect his return shortly.
Photos of Steve Burton as Jason Morgan popped up on “General Hospital” on Monday, August 11, sparking a frenzy of rumors that Burton was leaving “Young and the Restless” and returning to “General Hospital.” However, Burton’s character has been front and center for months, therefore this rumor is not true. But fans of “The Young and the Restless” are waiting to see if fan favorite Billy Miller, ex-Billy Abbott, has been cast as Jason on “General Hospital.”
While “General Hospital” fans would prefer to have Steve Burton return to the role he created 21 years ago, it does not appear that will happen. “Young and the Restless” fans, however, are excited about the possibility that Billy Miller will be back on their television screens again. It would be no surprise if Billy Miller appears as Jason Morgan. In July Michelle Stafford, ex-Phyllis Newman, came onto the canvas as Nina Clay. Nina had awoken from a 20 year coma and returned to Port Charles to find her husband Silas involved in a relationship with Sam Morgan, Jason’s widow.
There also has been an abundance of casting rumors surrounding the character of A.J. Quartermaine. Though A.J. was shot and killed by Sonny Corinthos, lately there has been a lot of talk about the character. His name keeps coming up in conversations that involve many characters including Sonny, Carly Jax, Ava Jerome, Morgan Corinthos and Michael Quartermaine.
There has been absolutely no official confirmation that Jason Morgan has been recast, but the ABC has been very careful in revealing casting information since they secretly brought Michelle Stafford on board. Rumors have been running rampant that A.J. Quartermaine did not die after Sonny Corinthos shot him and that the role has been recast. The rumor is that Michael Muhney, ex-Adam Newman from “The Young and the Restless,” has been cast as the new A.J. Quartermaine.
