It’s been one of the worst kept secrets of the summer, but ABC’s “General Hospital” is officially announcing the addition of three-time Emmy winner Billy Miller to the cast, Miller will play mob enforcer, Jason Morgan.
“I am really excited to be working with such a talented and acclaimed actor as Billy,” said executive producer Frank Valentini. “Our cast is thrilled that he will be joining our ‘General Hospital’ family, and I know that he will be an amazing addition to our talented cast.”
Valentini made the announcement over Twitter in a playful exchange with head writer Ron Cartlivati that had GH fans excited and Billy Miller trending worldwide.
As “General Hospital” viewers know, Jason has been the subject of the Dr. Robin Scorpio Drake storyline. The young doctor and medical scientist left her family to help revive her friend, causing a riff between her and soon to be ex-husband, Patrick. Her efforts were proven to be affective when viewers saw Jason’s arm move when he came out of consciousness.
A central character to the show, Jason’s return will affect many relationships in Port Charles, including his family, The Quartermaines, the working family, including Sonny, Carly and Michael and the women in his life, Elizabeth and his widow Sam and his son, Danny.
Miller’s previous roles were on “All My Children” and “The Young and the Restless.” No first air date tape date has been set for Miller at this time.
“General Hospital” airs weekdays on ABC. Beginning Monday, September 8th, the popular ABC soap will air one hour later, 3:00 p.m. Eastern/2:00 p.m. Pacific in eight markets: San Antonio, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, and Raleigh-Durham.
