The Nurses Ball returned last week on “General Hospital.” Complete with red carpet entrances, a surprise opening performance, the usual bit of drama and wedding nuptials, this year’s Nurses Ball is off to a memorable start. But things will get more interesting the week of May 12 on “GH.”

This week there will be more entertaining and special performances. A blast from the past will surprise longtime “General Hospital” fans. Luke (Anthony Geary) will make the most of his moment in the spotlight. Is marrying Tracy (Jane Elliot) his only surprise? Love won’t be overshadowed at the Nurse Ball as some couple experiences a little romance, but there will be some heartbreak as the ball comes to an end.

The mob will take center stage this week. Duke (Ian Buchanan) and Anna (Finola Hughes) see their bond grow deeper. Does this mean Anna agrees to work with Duke in bringing down Julian (William deVry)? In the meantime Duke and Sonny (Maurice Benard) will continue to plot against Julian while Luke tries to figure out just how much Sonny knows about the Jerome Organization.

Julian will have his own distractions. Between the appeal of Jordan (Vinessa Antoine) and his growing love for Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Julian may be in for the taking. Alexis does not take a liking to Jordan and she also pleads this week for Julian to leave the mob. Is Julian already too deep to leave? He has a meeting with Luke, but things may get a bit more complicated. Jordan and Alexis also share a connection with Shawn (Sean Blakemore). Despite their dislike for each other, Jordan and Shawn take a trip down memory lane. But what is really up with Jordan? T.J. certainly wants to find out as he overhears his mother on the phone.

Also this week, Michael (Chad Duell) makes a power move at ELQ as he works with Ned (Wally Kurth) to try to boot Luke out of the company. Anna has some news for Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu (Emme Rylan). Liz (Rebecca Herbst) has two men competing for her heart and his week she makes a decision that will break one man’s heart and put a smile on the other.

Down the road: Carly (Laura Wright) seeks some help from an old friend. Could this be Spinelli? Julian has an announcement that shocks many. Jordan has a talk with Anna and it is a connection that will surprise viewers. Luke is out for revenge, but against who and why?
