Just when fans thought they were done with seeing old faces from ghosts of "General Hospital" past, a familiar face will arrive in Port Charles. The Cassadines have been a prominent family in Port Charles for decades. The late 70s and early 80s gave way to several Cassadine characters including Helena and Victor. According to a Jan. 25 report from We Love Soaps, Victor Cassadine will show up in Port Charles with some shocking news. Fans are excited to see Thaao Penghlis reprise the role. Penghlis left the show in 1981 and this will be his first time back since.

"General Hospital" has brought back several older characters to celebrate the show's 50th anniversary in 2013. Victor Cassadine was last seen in Port Charles in 1981 when he was sent to prison by Robert Scorpio and Luke Spencer. Cassadine was presumed dead and his arrival will definitely ruffle a few feathers. He is the uncle to both Stavros Cassadine and Alexis Davis, which would make him the great-uncle to Nikolas.

While the story line that will develop is being kept under wraps, fans are excited to see him back in the mix. With Helena Cassadine gone, there isn't a good Cassadine "bad guy" on screen. Thaao Penghlis is set to make his first "General Hospital" appearance on Jan. 31.
