Nedenia Post Dye, 46-year-old socialite, heiress of a multi-million dollar fortune, and great-granddaughter of heiress and socialite Marjorie Merriweather Post, was found stabbed to death on Dec. 22 in her room in a luxury resort she ran on the Caribbean island of Roatan.

Reports were just being released on Dec. 29 that Dye was stabbed many times in the back, allegedly by a man with whom she was romantically involved, according to

Nedenia Post Dye inherited the cereal company that would eventually become General Foods Inc.

Honduras police arrested murder suspect Lenin Roberto Arana, a local singer from the area, who police chief Alex Madrid from the Honduras said was “captured wearing blood-soaked clothing as he tried to flee in Dye's car.”

Arana, who also goes by his stage name "The Canary,' told reporters that he was innocent of Dye’s stabbing murder.

"Nedenia was like a mother to me. She protected me.''

Police Chief Madrid went on to say that Dye was reportedly trying to help Arana quit drugs.

"She was a good woman who worked with young people at risk, drug addicts and alcoholics.''

Dye, originally from Santa Monica, Calif., had been living on the resort island of Roatan for the last 15 years where she was running the luxury spa, Baan Suerte.
