Northern Kentucky’s first state park and one of the first ten in the Commonwealth, General Butler sits on a cliff overlooking the confluence of the Kentucky and the Ohio Rivers.

On the grounds of the park, history is on display at the Butler-Turpin House. Built in 1859 by one of Kentucky’s most prominent military families, the house is open for tours Wednesday through Sunday except during the winter months.

The hilltop Butler Lodge is an attraction within itself. Each of the 53 rooms features a private balcony or patio overlooking the pool or hillside. The Two Rivers restaurant at the lodge features a bistro style dinner menu and is a popular Sunday Brunch destination. In the lobby, visitors can listen to the piano or just admire the view of the Ohio River valley.

Other features of the park include golfing, swimming, hiking and biking trails, a campground, fishing, boating opportunities, basketball and tennis courts, and much more.

General Butler is located just 44 miles northeast of Louisville and conveniently located just off of I-71 at exit #44.
